Unfinished Business

When we pass over to the spirit world, we do not become vaccuous, our feelings and anxieties remain the same. Mainly, we may be confused and disorientated depending on the manner the death occurred.

I like to think that I have the art of acumen and when a spirit shows themselves and comes forward, I naturally start to communicate with them regardless of whether I know them or not. After all, the majority of spirits are innocuous.

This is exactly what occurred one evening at home when I was sitting with my neighbour who came in for coffee.

It seems that even spirits who feel they need to ‘get something off their chest’ will try to communicate with the nearest person who can pass the information on to the relevant party, if they can.

The spirit in front of me was male and told me his name was Brian. As I did not recognise this person I asked my neighbour (Julia) if she knew anyone by that name. I continued to describe him to her and eventually she realised that it was her employer’s brother who had died 6 months ago. He wanted to show me the iniquitous events and his brother’s nefarious actions. Regardless of what my thoughts were on the subject I fervently listened to what he had to say.

Once Brian felt assured that I was responding to him, he proceeded to show me the circumstances and events just before he passed over to the spirit world. It was like watching a drama on television and seeing the story unfolding before my eyes. He wanted me to feel his emotions and see what his last few hours were like.

Julia asked me for writing material so that she could make notes as she was intrigued by what was happening. She wanted to verify the validity of these events.

It seems that the first thing, in most cases, when a spirit comes forward they want to express how healthy and well they look. It was just so, with Brian. He was ecstatic and could not contain himself. It was obvious to me that this was his first visit to the physical world. He pointed to Julia and he said to me “Tell her I’m O.K. but I want them to know what he’s done”(meaning his brother Mathew). Julia was well aware that I had no knowledge of Brian until now.

Brian’s Account of events
First he explained how he returned home from work one sunny evening in July and was feeling unwell. He sat down on his favourite chair and covered himself with his brown overcoat, regardless of the fact that it was a warm evening. He fell asleep and never awoke. (he had passed over peacefully in his sleep suffering a heart attack ). His body was discovered three days later by his brothers, one of which was called Mathew. Apparently, Brian was in a partnership with his brother Matthew. They owned a food processing factory in East London. Although they had fallen out over business matters, which led to Brian leaving the partnership, he continued an amicable relationship with his brother.

The last job Brian did was for his brother at the factory on the day that he died. I listened to Brian for a while and he started to mention a few names to me, one name specifically was Andrew. I asked Julia if she knew who this was. I began to tell Julia that I could see Brian with his hands over his ears laughing heartily. He informed me that Andrew had a terrible voice, although he thought he could sing. Andrew felt that he missed his vocation in singing. Julia confirmed that Andrew was working as a security guard at the Factory and was Brian’s best friend.

Brian told me that relatives had made enquires of his whereabouts as nobody had seen or heard from him. Two of his brothers decided to break the door down to his flat, as there was still no sign of Brian after three days. That is when Brian’s body was found dead on the chair, covered in a brown coat. Mathew asked his brother to call the Police and an ambulance. While his brother was making the call in another room, Mathew proceeded to go through Brian’s pockets and then removed Brian’s gold watch and jewellery. He pocketed the jewellery and wore the watch. He removed the cash from Brian’s wallet and put that in his own pocket and discarded the wallet. He showed no signs of respect or sadness in having lost his brother. He scanned the room and proceeded to take small items from the flat once the body was taken away.

Now I understood why Brian had pointed to Julia and said “Tell her what he’s done”

Brian moved on to show me pigeons. I asked Julia what significance this had. As she was unable to tell me, she promised to find out from work the next day.I waited to see if there was anything else that he wished to tell me. There was nothing, he expressed his sincere love, thanked me for the communication. It was as if he felt relief in making his grievances known. He faded off, and I could not see him any more.

Two days later, Julia knocked on my door and asked if I had a few minutes to spare. I invited her in. She seemed very excited to tell me her findings regarding Brian.

Her findings were:

- Brian had indeed died alone, suffering a heart attack in his flat, covered in a brown coat.
- She saw Matthew wearing a gold watch, which Andrew confirmed had belonged to Brian.
- All the staff at work verified to her, that there was one pigeon that would fly onto the window sill of the security hut at the factory every morning without fail, for at least six weeks after Brian’s death. Nothing could be done to stop the pigeon coming. Nobody knew why, until Andrew confirmed that Brian, every morning would feed the pigeons and it became a habit. - Julia was laughing when she also confirmed to me that sometimes Andrew would walk through the factory singing at the top of his voice, and just for a joke all the staff would put their hands on their ears, implying it was awful.

When a person passes over to the spirit world, there is a great chance that he/she has unfinished business in the physical world. Whether it be family, business or emotional matter, the spirit can come on visitation or be grounded due to unfinished business.

Some spirits need help to pass over to the other side and would need to be shown how to cross over to the spirit world. Therefore, it is quite apparent that Brian needed to inform his loved ones and friends of the events that took place during and after the time of his death. Although he was not happy of the actions taken by his brother Matthew, he still wanted them all to know that he was happy and content in the spirit world.

As a spiritual medium, I believe that I am still learning something through every encounter with the spirit world. There is still so much to learn. How much? Ask the spirits.
