Mikes Profile

Interview

Joanne Saunders, freelance journalist and Director of N & J Productions, Interviews Mike ‘The Paradoctor’

Joanne: Your path to becoming a psychic medium is quite interesting. You’ve had mystic experiences in your childhood and adolescence and then you dropped all this completely, only to return years later. Could you briefly tell me how it started in childhood and what were the reasons for these changes at the different stages of your life?
Paradoctor: I was seeing spirits from the age of about 4 years old. I first saw a spirit outside my house and wondered why my parents and family could not see the spirit looking at me. I was staring at my family hoping they would tell the man to go away, but it was obvious they could not see the spirit.

So the main changes in my life are different changes that have happened and the stages that I have gone through. It’s just having psychic experiences throughout my life, i.e. seeing spirits in the most unusual places even the supermarkets, seeing spirits in my bedroom, hearing people talking to me and calling out my name wanting to talk to me and it just carried on from there.

I knew this was the path that I obviously had to take in life at some point and confront it instead of trying to shy away from it. If I had not of confronted it at that time, obviously things may have been different today and I would not be doing what I am today.

Joanne: What's the scariest thing that's ever happened to you?
Paradoctor: Looking back there has been a few scary situations. I think the scariest was when I was young, looking in my bedroom and seeing my mum looking over me, actually sitting on the bed and feeling the mattress pressing down. Another scary thing was being confronted by a poltergeist and having chairs and other household items thrown at me. Mike breaks into laughter ‘and it was not the wife’.

Joanne: Aren't you afraid that spirits will come to visit when you're in the shower or on the toilet, thereby invading your privacy?
Paradoctor: I have realised over the years that spirits have there own discretion about things like that. If I ever do hear anything they seem to disappear and vanish within seconds, so I don’t really have a problem with that at all. Lots of people do ask me that question and they do have to realise like I said before ‘spirits have their own discretion’ and there is a time and place for everything.

Joanne: Does that mean you sometimes get information that you haven't asked for and wished you hadn't got?
Paradoctor: Absolutely, every single day of my life I get messages. I get told about all types of things, unfortunately I also get told about events and I get told about death. But on the other hand the majority of the messages that come through are good messages from spirits that do want to communicate with a relative or friend.

Joanne: What is the saddest or emotionalist reading you have ever experienced?
Paradoctor: The saddest reading I have ever experienced or confronted would be when I was in ‘Highgate Cemetery’ and I was told by a spirit of a woman who had been beaten and abused by her husband, she was wandering through the cemetery searching for her children. This is actually one of the stories on my website which is under the headline ‘Highgate cemetery’. Occasionally I have given charitable readings to individuals who are suffering from terminal illness who wish to know where they will go and what will happen to them once they have passed on.

Joanne: What do you mean by psychic motivator?
Paradoctor: I get approached by people from all walks of life. The most general is people who have come to across road in their life and seem to have lost their path in life, they get frustrated and depressed. What I do is talk to them and show them the correct direction to go in to enhance their life, and at same time I give them motivation to live their spirits up. I do my best to make hem feel on top of the world.

Joanne: Astral Travel is hard to believe in for a ‘regular’ human person. Is there really another dimension where only the spirits live and we can access it in our life? Aren’t these only dreams, maybe lucid ones?
Paradoctor: Astral Travel is something that many people can experience and still do on a daily basis. I have had reports from all over the world from individuals that have experienced this; its just meaning basically that the spirit can leave the body behind while your astral body (and consciousness) go travelling about. A lot of people are afraid of this and fear that they can’t get back into their bodies; however that’s not actually true, a lot of people talk about a silver cord which is the connection between the spirit and the body. The actual silver cord is just your mind; this cord mainly appears to a beginning projector as an assurance that they will not become lost. There is no danger in this; it is a gift giving to us to learn how to use.

Joanne: Where can a psychic medium help people the most?
Paradoctor: There are two categories here. A psychic would see things that are going on in your life, what you have been doing and what you are doing and where you are going. But a spiritual medium would contact the spiritual world and acts all channels in the spirits messages and passes them on to the person who is actually having a reading. So in my case what I do where I help people the most is, if people what to know if there loved ones is okay as they have passed on, I will put them at ease and tell them what is going on. The psychic side of it is again putting their mind at ease and helping them take the correct path in life, and at the same time being the psychic motivator I will motivate them and give them the confidence to go out and be who they really want to be without being afraid because the biggest thing that people have a problem with is to learn to say no at the right time, if more people learn to say no, they will be better off as when you keep saying yes your not in control of your own life’s unless your actually making the decision.

Joanne: What about responsibility? Could it be that people asking for your advice end up worse than they were before as a result of the reading? Aren’t you sometimes afraid of being accused of ruining people’s lives?
Paradoctor: The risk is always there but a proper sensitivity and caring psychic spiritual medium would act differently to that, hence the word charlatans. We come across them every day. For example if you ring an 08960 number you know you are paying about £1.50 per minute to listen to someone giving you a reading whom you have never met. They know nothing about you, or cannot understand how sensitive you may be. To me that is a charlatan; in other words there just there for the money. Many time I have giving readings free of charge as because I care more about the person than I do for the money but as long as I can eat and live my life its ok, but am sensitive to everyone’s problems and unlike a lot of other mediums I think positively, I want people to think positively as well.

Joanne: If someone wanted to increase their own psychic abilities, what would you suggest they do?
Paradoctor: I would suggest them to do is join a psychic circle, There are a few of them out there, visit them. It does not mean you have to join, just see which one you feel right with, Never mind what they say to you or do for you, as the only one that is going to help you is yourself. Your instincts will tell you immediately as you walk through the door when it is right.

Joanne: In a field full of frauds and pretenders what would you advise to a person looking for advice from a psychic medium ? Can one choose the real one before he/she spends real money ? How should one approach the subject of getting advice from a psychic ?
Paradoctor: Do your homework, don’t just go to the first psychic who is advertised in front of you if you can avoid it. Go to someone who has a track record, someone who has credibility. Talk to other people and see what they thought and if it helped them Don’t be afraid to ask. You will feel when it’s right. If you ask anyone about a psychic they will tell you they just read an advert in magazines or website as they were so desperate they wanted a reading. We must remember people are so insecure and unfortunately many will believe anything that people tell them. Don’t go for a cold reading from someone you have never heard of. And most importantly make sure you feel comfortable with that person.

Joanne: What are your plans for the coming year regarding your career and personal development?
Paradoctor: I am hoping to get into television, and also to write a book next year if I find the right publisher. If all goes well just carry on with what I am doing, help as many people as I can and get them on the correct path to life. Give them that motivation and let them feel great about themselves; to enjoy life the way they want and realise that they can make decisions for themselves to move forward.

Joanne: Any closing notes?
Paradoctor: It was a pleasure giving this interview. I appreciate the opportunity to share what I do with others. Readers of my stories know that I often describe my process in detail so that others can do this work too. I want to awaken the light workers out there, infuse them with some courage and motivation, and get them out there working their light. I consult often with people who want to become professional psychics. I find great joy in helping people get moving on their paths. Because I want everybody to remember as this is a true feeling of mine ‘there is always a light at the end of the tunnel’.

Thanks Joanne.
